Saulius Damulevicius (Lithuania)
Saulius Damulevičius is a high altitude climber and polar adventurer. In his mountaineering career to date Saulius climbed virgin peaks in China, skied up and down a 7500 m peak, and was awarded the title of Snow Leopard for climbing the 5 highest peaks of Central Asia (all above 7000 m). He also completed an unsupported crossing of frozen Baltic sea on skis from Finland to Sweden in 2016.
Saulius uses photography to document his remarkable expeditions in the most extreme and pristine environments on earth.
I always relied on a heavy DSLR system to photograph my expeditions. However, its weight usually forced me to reduce the whole system to a single lens camera once I was away from the Base Camp. Fortunately, I switched to Fujifilm X-system, which proved to be much lighter and extremely reliable. No matter whether I am climbing a 7500-meter peak with temperatures plunging down to -30 Celsius or accidentally plunge my camera in icy waters on a polar expedition, I can be sure that I will bring excellent pictures of my adventurers back home!
