The new 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor allows for immaculate detail and the option to reframe images, which is especially handy in a fixed lens camera. Autofocus and IBIS are also essential that assist in quick on the fly capture, and with IBIS at 6.0 stops and the improved AI Autofocus system, I have noticed these improvements instantly.

Beyond highlighting key technical features I noticed on the new FUJIFILM X100VI, the fun comes down to the ease of use within the ecosystem. Choosing from 20 Film Simulations including the new REALA ACE is a creative dimension of its own, contributing to the style and artistic versatility of this camera. I use the Fujifilm X100VI to not only post social media clips from processed film emulations, but to import into my favourite editors and work with the RAWS for the final product. Having the balance photos ready to post instantly, with a strong and editable image thanks to great color science is really what makes a camera multi-purpose for personal and professional use.

Video is another category we often forget about with portable digital cameras, at the end of the day we have our cell phones and to be frank cameras of this category typically aren’t great at video. The Fujifilm X100VI really surprised me with 6.2K resolution, but most importantly 10-bit 4:2:2 F-LOG, it is truly impressive. Not only from a resolution standpoint, but cinema grade codec and an effect LOG format, you really have the latitude to rely on the camera not only to capture video primarily, but to also compliment cinema grade cameras used specifically for video production.
