The Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the most prestigious competition that provides a showcase for the world’s very best nature photography. The competition is owned by the world-renowned and trusted British institution, the Natural History Museum.
In the 2017 edition of the Wildlife photographer of the Year, among the winning images there was also “Funny Brothers”, shot by X-Photographer Marco Urso with the X-T2 and XF50-140mmF2.8 lens.
An international jury of experts decrees the best 100 photos, chosen according to creativity, artistic value and technical complexity, between 50,000 were presented by professional and non-professional photographers coming from 95 countries.
“The two bears, who were 7 months old, often got up to better control what I did. That day was raining and the raindrops add a touch of atmosphere to the shot.” – claims Marco Urso and concludes: “My approach to nature photography, is to capture the ‘human aspect’ and the funny expressions of the animals. This is particularly easy for me with bears.”
“Funny Brothers” was also chosen among the 25 photos competing for public voting. Up to 5 February 2018, at a global level, it is possible to vote for the photo.
