Elena Galani (Greece)

I am an Athens based professional photographer. I am specialized in Architectural and Product photography.

My relationship with photography started when I laid my hands on my mother’s film SLR camera. The first film I ever shot was a black and white, completely wrongly exposed film. I still have the photos.

For many years I was studying photography by myself via books, articles and videos. In 2015 I decided to take digital and analogue photography lessons at Calderone Art School where, after I graduated, I started teaching darkroom techniques in a class for beginners.

In my personal projects, I shoot traces of people, ghosts of memories left around in the streets.

I won a Fujifilm X-A3 in a competition raised by Fujifilm Hellas. As soon as I saw the results, I sold my full frame camera and bought an X-T2.

During the covid lockdown times, I started taking long walks, shooting the empty streets, searching for the human contact, trying to find some normalcy in the situation. Since then I always go for a photowalk at least once a week.
