The workshop was an engaging exploration into the broad field of location portrait photography. Led by the highly esteemed X-Photographer Derrick Ong, the event sought to enhance participants’ abilities by seeking into the captivating relationship between light and shadow when creating artistic portraits.

Derrick highlighted the significance of grasping the concept of light and its ability to greatly enhance the mood and storytelling element of a portrait.

Participants were then engaged in a series of interactive tasks, led by Derrick himself. Outfitted with Aputure Lights, participants explored different lighting arrangements to capture breathtaking portraits in diverse settings. With soft, diffused light and dramatic shadows, every participant had the chance to express their creativity and receive personalized feedback and guidance from Derrick.

Participants provided extremely positive feedback, with many expressing how the workshop broadened their understanding of lighting and motivated them to explore new creative possibilities.
