Born in Adana, Yumurtalık, Mehmet Yaşar Köseli continues his education in Anadolu University (Photography and Camera Departmant) after he graduated from Antalya Akdeniz University as a mechanical engineer.
He was honoured with lot of medals and honorable mentions in many national and international contests. He got the third prize in Lions International Environmental Photo Contest Winners of the 2016-2017 in U.S.A, Chicago. His photographs and articles concerning the documentaries he worked on were published in many journals. He took part in personal exhibitions 4 times and in group exhibitions 8 times. He also took part in photograph festivals and he gave seminars. He was honoured as a title of AFIAP by FIAP(Photography ARt FEderation) in 2014.
He is still working as a photo trainer and doing workshops in different institutions and with people who are into photography. He did a lot of work about documentary photography and writing books about it whose names are “Belgesel Günlüğü” and “Sadece Fotoğraf Çekmek mi?”
He began to shoot photographs as an amateur with darkroom in 1998. He took basic, advanced and workshop courses at IFSAK (Istanbul Photography and Cinema Art Association)
He is still a member of Fotografya Photography and Cinema Art Association and acts as the chairman of the board since 2012.
He always tries to be open for his personal development concerning photography. He has always been open to learning more in order to self-improve in photography. He sees photography as a tool to make life more meaningful and as one of the ways to leave documents with stories as well as narrating lives from his eyes and heart.
