Saša Mihajlović (Serbia)

I am a professional photographer and retoucher currently based in Belgrade, Serbia. My photography career started many years ago when I was working for the magazine “Gloria” as a photo retoucher. Editor in chief saw some of the amateur work that I did and asked to shoot several celebrity portraits for the magazine. After some relatively successful shootings that I did, she offered me to try a bit of fashion editorial work. Finally, I was able to shoot bigger campaigns and cover pages for the magazine and also to retouch my own work. After I have slowly established myself in the business I managed to work as an editor in chief for the “Digital Camera” licensed magazine and later as a managing director of “Beauty and Health” magazine. During that time, I was developing my freelance career and currently, I can say that I have worked for some major companies in Serbia like Planeta sport, Sunoko, Music Star and global companies like Universal music.

Referans

When I was working for the magazine “Gloria“, I was always struggling with carrying a lot of equipment. I read about mirrorless cameras and I was intrigued by their small size and quality. Fuji just released their X line of cameras and I got the X-E1. I was immediately in love with the results that I got from that little camera and after some experimenting, with lenses, I ended up with XF35mmF1.4 lens which is an amazing lens. On my first couple of magazine shootings with Fuji, I broth Canon 5D mark III as my main camera but ended choosing files from Fuji later on which I carried as a backup. Files were great right out of the camera and I was able to retouch them faster than before because skin tone had nice separation from other colors in a spectrum. I even published FUJIFILM X-T10 on the first cover of Serbian “Digital Camera “magazine when I was editor in chief because of stunning results that I saw from this camera. Acknowledging of my work for me came in the form of fellows Fuji shooters publishing my work on the cover of “Fuji X Passion“ magazine. For me, that was a sure sign that my skills and Fuji are working great together.
