Architecture is frozen music, and music is liquid architecture – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Good architecture embeds symphonic elements like Rhythm, Texture, Scale, Harmony – which evoke powerful emotional responses in humans. This is what I try to achieve when given a design task because the end goal, is to create an emotional attachment for any user, the same way we get that nostalgia feeling when we listen to certain pieces of music.

I’m Enoch, also known as Noxz. I’m a Nigerian born, London based content creator, music producer and an architect.

The very moment I picked up the Fujifilm X-S20, I knew I’d find it hard to put down. Just because of how snug it felt in my hand and knowing it is an upgrade to my first Fujifilm purchase; the X-S10, I got a little bit excited to spend the next few weeks using the X-S20.

They say the best camera is the one you have on you right? Well I wish I had my FUJIFILM camera on me 247! There’s a certain feel I get straight out of camera that doesn’t feel digitised. Kind of like in music, I’ll always be an analog synth guy over the digital VST’s. So when I came across The X-S10 and the analog feel it gave, it was love at first click!

As a multi-hyphenate, I’m someone with multiple outlets. I do not enjoy being boxed to one thing, if I can express myself visually, sonically and in other ways, all while doing it creatively, I’d go for it. I think my passion stems from wanting to see people express themselves more when experiencing something I’ve made, or produced. So if I can express myself and it resonates with people, that keeps me going knowing fully well that my work is making others flourish.

The X-S20 quickly became that extension of me to be able to express myself and produce content that resonates with my community but most importantly, myself. The beefed up grip not only makes it more comfortable to use over long periods of time, but also adds to the stability the 7 stop IBIS provides. The grip also now houses the newer NP-W235 battery, which means more than double the shots I’d get from the X-S10. I get to move around light, and focus more on the content because of this upgrade.

This eagerness to want to create amazing content with minimal gear is as a result of how quick I was able to grow my social media channels. Social media has made the world feel smaller. I can connect with people who live 10,000 miles away and feel like I live next door to them. This got heightened during lockdown, where I decided to start posting my beats on line and showcase life during lockdown. every Sunday I started doing musical quiz’s and that became a thing! a year later, in 2022, I started monetising my accounts by working with brands and artists I could only dream of working with. I never thought it could be a thing, but when I realised the potential of having that creative freedom to have as many outlets under one name – Noxz, I thought, this is what I wanted to do as a kid. It only took me 30 years to figure it out!

I love that I can shoot in 6.2K/30P and 4K/60P 4:2:2 10bit internal recording which translates to – I can capture a lot more details! That means I do not need to worry too much about shooting in landscape or portrait because once cropped in, I still get the sharp details I like the viewers to see on Instagram, TikTok or Youtube.

Speaking of details, the new and improved autofocus on the X-S20 sticks on its subject like bees and honey. That’s as a result of the auto scene recognition that enables the X-S20 to identify and optimise the information being sent to it and make the images sharper.

I get a lot of direct messages about what camera I use to create engaging content, what lens’s I’d recommend. I think my community would love for me to do a breakdown of what I shoot with, how I shoot, how I edit or also just bringing them along the journey to witness me create live.

My audience have always requested I do a live show, or an online performance as the overall vibe I present online seems quite chilled and relaxed. They’re the reason I am where I am now, so I’d love to start going live on social media. Only problem I’ve had with that is because I’m super fussy about visuals, grading, colours etc and I don’t want to go live on my phone. That’s a bit basic.

The X-S20 is compact, and it’s plug and play. That’s a winner! but also being able to go live with the same FUJIFILM recipes I use on my other posts, for the consistency, is a game changer.

To sum it up, the X-S20 is A TINY BEAST! It’s perfect if you’re looking to buy into the FUJIFLM system for the first time as it has a bit of everything from the other line ups but its also small, so you can take it anywhere with you without it feeling like a burden. For it’s size and versatility, I’d say it’ll be my go to for when I’m not shooting at home. I wouldn’t have to worry about compromising on quality over comfort.

It’s interesting to see how the line is developing, I’m excited to see if the X-S line can make me ditch my other FUJIFILM bodies. Ultimately I love how it helps me focus on creating and capturing because in the end, its become an integral part of my creative process now.
