Kalel Koven (France)

Kalel Koven is a French photographer, best known as a streetphotographer, he has been exhibited with his “Light of My Eyes” series (2010) on several occasions in Paris and Berlin and then in residence at L’Area Galerie in Nice, France. A work that he extended 5 years later with his recent, noticed, series “Between Us, 2015”. (Life Framer Award Prize). He has since worked and published in various magazines Geo France, Fisheye Magazine, etc. Influenced by photographers like Bruce Davidson, David Alan Harvey, Alec Soth, his work is part of a permanent visual as well as personal search. Leaving his comfort zone as much as possible, “do not lose your beginner spirit” as he says, not to rest on his acquired and exploring different kinds of photographs. He continues to vary his work, to evolve, to learn while working for the press, fashion, focusing in particular on documentary photography on medium / long term projects. Kalel Koven has been a member of the HL Agency (Hans Lucas) since 2015.

TESTIMONIAL

My first Fujifilm camera was the X100S. I was looking for a light, discreet camera, with an optical viewfinder and good ergonomics for street photography. The freedom of this kind of system quickly becomes indispensable. Little by little, I used it for reporting because its qualities allowed me to readjust my way of working. Reportage, sport, concert, street photography, fashion, these are genuine tools designed for photographers, with follow-up and listening from Fujifilm. Close to users, Fujifilm changes the situation and in the field, from day to day, it makes the difference.
