Guillermo Calderon (Mexico)

Guillermo Calderon was born in Mexico City in 1983. As a son of two pilots, he enjoyed taking pictures while traveling and began earning money from photography since he was 16. He started teaching photography to kids when he was 18 and gives at least one workshop a year since then. In 2003 he purchased his first DSLR and never returned to film, he indeed, never looked back at the pictures he had made with film.
He loves to photograph people. In 2009 started Nunu Bodas a Wedding and Portrait Photography studio, which was named in several occasions as one of the Top Choices for Wedding Photography and Video in Mexico City. Meanwhile, he has done a bunch of personal photography projects, including 230 shoots of different people on a bathtub, and many portraits of people he had just met.
Since switching to FUJIFILM entirely in 2015, Guillermo left the Wedding business, and began doing photography solely as a hobby, he is an amateur again. He is now capturing his moments in life, those Little pieces that where lost while making memories for other people.
Since his first years with a camera, he seeks for simple shapes and composition. Portraying defined elements in which light has the staring role.

Testimonial

When I first discovered the Fujifilm X-Series, I felt I had “less machine” between me and my subject. I didn´t care if people saw me with a camera or reacted to it, but then again the equipment felt less intrusive… to me. At that time, most of my work was in wedding photography, and as we know, the X-Series are praised for their small size and weight. So just as other photographers, my body thanked I ditched some kilograms in equipment.
Fujifilm’s X-Series made me go out again and look for new shots. For me, photography is about giving order to the world out there, and the X-Series translates that world better than any other camera before did.
