Gábor Mónos(Hungary)
Gabor was born in 1957. His education includes: geology and teaching. In the early 80s he was introduced to cinematography (8mm, S8) as a cameraman. He turned himself towards photography from 1986. In 1989 Gabor became official photo reporter and image editor for the Hungarian News Agency (MTI), then at Axel Springer Publishing Company. Participated in the South Slavic War as war correspondent, then shifted interest towards sport photography.
Gabor is a freelance photographer for more than 20 years, working with news agencies as EPA, DPA and AFP. He teaches photography for students and is often requested as president for official photography exams. Gabor successfully participated in many global photo contests. He is member of the Association of Hungarian Photographers, Global Association of Hungarian Photographers, has earned the awards AFIAP and QPSA.
I do respect and like FUJIFILM’s cameras and devices. In my early career I used multiple FUJIFILM GW690 II Professional 6x9 90mm f/3.5 and Fuji GS645S Pro EBC 60mm F/4 cameras. Since the digital age of photography, I shifted back to the brand once again with X-system based cameras – first an X100 in 2012. I was truly amazed by the sheer quality of the pictures and the powerful FUJI colors, so my next device became the X-E1, then X-T1, X-T2 and for 3 years now I’m using X-Pro2 (while changing from my previous DSLR-system). In my humble opinion this is THE universal camera with outstanding qualities, using FUJINON optics that can solve any photographic task in a state of the art manner.
