Rufat Abas (Azerbaijan)

My name is Rufat Abas and I am a studio and street photographer from Baku, Azerbaijan. My life in photography began with an old russian camera "Смена" (Smena) when I was a school boy. With years passed photography became something more than just a hobby. I prefer the art and street photography genres. I like to photograph people, their emotions and feelings no matter of their age, gender, race and social status. I have been participating in various photography exhibitions and competitions in Azerbaijan and abroad.
I published my first photography book "Life in black and white" in 2012 and had my personal street photography exhibition "Street, Light, Emotion" in 2013. In 2015 I received the “Photographer of the Year – 2015” award by Azerbaijan Photographers Union.

I am also involved in training and mentoring activities and providing photography workshops and seminars in International photography school of Eastern partnership.
