Please read this update after refreshing this page.

  • In case of Windows (Internet Explorer / FireFox / Google Chrome), hold down the “Control” key and “F5” key.
  • In case of Mac (Safari / Google Chrome), hold down the “Command” key and “R” key.
  • In case of Mac (FireFox), hold down the “Command”, “Shift” and “R” keys at same time.

The firmware upgrade is not required if its version is latest.

  • Refer to “2) Firmware version checking procedure” in the “Detail of firmware update steps” below to check the firmware version.

Please use your camera and lens with the latest version of firmware.

  • If you don’t use them with the latest version, you may not enjoy their full performance. Check the latest firmware version from the link below.

Detail of the firmware update

Ver.2.10

The firmware update Ver.2.10 from Ver.2.00 incorporates the following issues:

* Other languages are in preparation.

The following features enhanced with FUJIFILM XApp Ver.2.1.0 are now supported.

1) RAW image can be transferred from the camera to FUJIFILM XApp
2) Once FUJIFILM XApp connects to the camera, you can shoot and control the camera with smartphone even if the camera is turned off by “AUTO POWER OFF” mode setting.
3) You can browse and transfer images to the camera with FUJIFILM XApp even while the camera is turned off.

Note: Be sure to update “FUJIFILM XApp” to the latest version (Ver.2.1.0 or later) in order to use these new features above.

AF performance is improved as follows.

1)AF tracking start speed gets faster at “Burst” mode under the following conditions.
 ・SHUTTER AF:OFF
 ・Operation: “AF-ON” button ON + simultaneous release
2)A firmware bug is fixed that the AF focusing accuracy and distance indicator varied when using a wide-angle lens.

Wi-Fi connection performance is improved, so that the usability for the communication functions becomes more comfortable, such as Frame.io.

A firmware bug is fixed that the area settings in some regions are not automatically updated when connecting the camera to the “FUJIFILM XApp” to synchronize time.

A firmware bug is fixed that the preview image freeze when pressing S1 under the following setting conditions.

・SETUP MENU>POWER MANAGEMENT>PERFORMANCE>BOOST>EVF FRAME RATE PRIORITY

Other minor bugs are fixed.

Ver.2.00

The firmware update Ver.2.00 from Ver.1.20 incorporates the following issues:

Supports camera linkage enhanced in "FUJIFILM XApp" Ver. 2.0.0 or later.

1)Camera linkage enhancement by “Equipment” tab, with “FUJIFILM XApp”, Ver.2.0.0 or later, will be available for GFX100 II now.

・Number of days since the last sensor cleaning

2)Camera firmware upgrade process becomes easier.

The “FUJIFILM XApp” automatically downloads and transfer the revised firmware to the memory card in the camera in the background, so that you can upgrade the firmware anytime.

Note-1: Background data transfer is performed while the camera and “FUJIFILM XApp” are connected via Wi-Fi.
Note-2: Once the revised firmware is automatically downloaded, the firmware update information is displayed on the LCD, prompting the operator to update to the latest firmware.
Note-3: This feature will be available from the next firmware update.

“FIRMWARE UPDATE” function has been added to the setup menu.

Insert a memory card containing the new firmware into the camera and select “USER SETTING” in the “SET UP” menu to update the firmware.

The current procedure for firmware update can also continue to be used as follows.
・Start the camera while holding down the DISP/BACK button to update the firmware.
・Connect to a smartphone application to update firmware.

Another minor bug is fixed.

Ver.1.20

The firmware update Ver.1.20 from Ver.1.11 incorporates the following issues:

A "MULTI" button is added to the "Remote Rec Function" menu. Pressing this button splits the screen display into four sections, allowing you to watch Live Views of multiple cameras simultaneously and pressing the “SINGLE” button bring back to the single screen display.

A "Clean display mode" is added to the "Remote Rec Function" menu. When "Clean display mode" is selected, only the Live View is displayed.

Other minor bugs are fixed.

Ver.1.11

The firmware update Ver.1.11 from Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issue:

The firmware bug is fixed that the EVF display becomes abnormal using some other manufacturers’ flashes and commanders, such as Godox’s.

Ver.1.10

The firmware update Ver.1.10 from Ver.1.00/1.03 incorporates the following issues:

*Ver.1.10 fixes the following six problems.

Black border appears on the left side of the image when making RAW output from DCI-8K movie (ex. Monitor output with “ATOMOS”, “Blackmagic Design”, etc.).

Note: The above border will be recorded on the movie.

EVF display rarely becomes abnormal at continuous shooting under the following condition.

・PERFORMANCE>BOOST:EVF FRAME RATE PRIORITY (120P)

RAW images taken with GFX100 II may not be able to be developed depending on the development software.

While continuous shooting, camera cannot turn off the power or freeze depending on the following shooting conditions.

(1) Conditions to cannot turn off the power
Shutter speed changes from faster than 1/4000 second to slower than 1/4000 second with the following settings.
・SHUTTER TYPE:M+E
・Continuous shooting mode:HIGH SPEED BURST
・Focus Mode:AF-C
・BUTTON/DIAL SETTING>SHUTTER AE:OFF

(2) Conditions to freeze
Shutter speed changes from slower than 1/4000 second to faster than 1/4000 second with the following settings.
・SHUTTER TYPE:M+E
・Continuous shooting mode:HIGH SPEED BURST
・Focus Mode:AF-C
・BUTTON/DIAL SETTING>SHUTTER AE:OFF

The image display on EVF, LCD or external monitor through HDMI seems abnormal under certain conditions.

Firmware Update Steps

  1. Check the firmware version.
  2. Prepare a formatted memory card.
  3. Download the firmware and copy it to the card.
  4. Put the memory card with the firmware in the camera and update it.
Detail of firmware update steps

Precaution

If firmware updating fails, the camera may no longer operate correctly in some cases. Carefully read the notes provided here*Always use the fully-charged battery when updating the firmware as a basic manner. Never turn the camera off or attempt to use any of the camera controls while the firmware is being overwritten.

  • You can update the firmware from old version directly to the latest one.
  • Firmware updating requires approximately 5 minutes.(maximum)
  • Once the firmware has been updated, some data of the previous version cannot be restored.
  • Please check here if you encounter any problems.

All copyrights and other proprietary rights to FIRMWARE are retained by FUJI, and nothing contained herein shall be construed, expressly or implicitly, as transferring or granting to you any right, license, or title unless otherwise explicitly granted under this Agreement.

FUJI EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY FOR SOFTWARE. SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT, PATENT, TRADE SECRET, OR ANY OTHER PROPRIETARY RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY. You shall not, or shall not have any third party, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble FIRMWARE.

Caution

*Make sure there isn’t any file with the same name in the destination of the firmware to save. If there is a file with the same name, the browser may automatically alter the name of the firmware like the name and (1). A camera will not recognize the firmware correctly with an altered name like that.
