Beat Mumenthaler (Switzerland)
Beat Mumenthaler was born in Bern (Switzerland) in 1973. He worked as a teacher for 10 years before turning his passion for photography into his profession. Since then, he has been unswervingly following his own path, which has led him to an idiosyncratic way of portrait photography. His portraits are unique, impressive, timeless and of a touching depth. Beat Mumenthaler thinks laterally. Narrates in a subtle way stories of people in front of the camera. Driven by his own way of meeting people, he creates images that are genuine. Pictures you can’t avoid. Images that cast a spell over the viewer. Many of his works have received national and international awards. Beat Mumenthaler works in the fields of portraiture, advertising and art and presents his work in exhibitions, books, lectures and workshops. What distinguishes the Swiss artist is the powerful dynamic full of authenticity in his work and the ambition to realize high standards without losing sight of the essential.
I love the FUJIFILM GFX 50S!
The search for the ideal camera to take my portraits in the way I work and to present them in large format and in perfect resolution has led me to the FUJIFILM GFX 50S without any ifs or buts.
I need a working tool that supports me optimally in my work. I need to be able to work very quickly and with absolute precision. I have to be able to rely on my camera blindly. This is the only way I can concentrate 100% on my counterpart.
The FUJIFILM GFX 50S fits perfectly in my hand and is easy to use.
Together with the FUJINON GF110mmF2 R LM WR, the GFX 50S is the perfect solution for me to create my well-known portraits.
The FUJINON GF63mmF2.8 R WR complements my GFX equipment perfectly. This lens is mainly used for reports.
I also work with the FUJIFILM X-H1 and the lenses FUJINON XF60mmF2.4 R Macro, FUJINON XF35mmF1.4 R and FUJINON XF23mmF1.4 R for reportages and as a supplement to the GFX 50S.
