Fujifilm and I have a long history. The Fujifilm FinePix 1300 was my first digital camera, and can be seen in a camera museum in London… which makes me feel very old indeed! But it was in 2002 and 2003 while working on cruise ships that we launched the Fujifilm S2 across the fleet. I was amazed by how incredible the CCD sensor was and the ability to capture perfect skin tones and the dynamic range was off the chart. Once I started shooting weddings in 2005, there was only one choice, the Fujifilm S3. Fast forward to today, and I love Fujifilm cameras as much as I did in the early days of my career.
It was 2016 when I came across the X Series. I’d be booked to shoot a wedding atop a mountain in Maine, USA, which involved a three-day hike to 5,267ft, and Fujifilm’s X-Pro2 was the only camera I considered. Being lightweight and weather sealed, it would take everything the mountain threw at me. It lapped it up.
Shooting X System cameras gives me the ability to blend in with the weddings I shoot to capture the intimate moments, as well as the structured portraits I’m known and booked for.
