Piet Van den Eynde (Belgium)

Piet Van den Eynde est un photographe indépendant, auteur et formateur belge, spécialisé dans le portrait de voyage. Il aime travailler avec le flash pour créer des portraits environnementaux saisissants dans des endroits reculés, qu’il s’agisse des montagnes mongoles de l’Altaï ou de la vallée de la rivière Omo dans le sud de l’Éthiopie. Lorsqu’il ne voyage pas, il écrit des livres et crée des tutoriels sur la photographie, l’éclairage et la retouche d’images. Pendant son temps libre, il aime faire de la rétro-ingénierie sur les systèmes d’éclairage des émissions télévisées populaires ou jouer au Monopoly avec son fils Noah – et se faire battre par lui.

I started my Fujifilm journey with the original X-Pro and the 18, 35 and 60 mm primes because I was looking for something smaller than my DSLR that would still give me excellent image quality. Over the years, I’ve worked with most of the Fujifilm cameras but when in 2016, I got a chance to test drive the GFX50S and make a testimonial video about it in Varanasi, India, I was completely hooked on the GFX system, which is now my go-to setup. I love the GFX system because it’s still relatively lightweight and compact given the incredible quality and the raw files it produces are a dream to work with in postprocessing. My favourite lenses are the 32-64 and of course the 110 mm portrait lens but I am also very curious about the new 80 mm 1.7
