Born and raised in New York City, Annalise Lockhart is an award-winning writer, director, and filmmaker, with extensive experience as a first assistant director on projects such as Reservation Dogs (FX), Random Acts of Flyness (HBO), The Assistant, and The Fits.
Her first short film, Inheritance, won numerous accolades, including Best US Short at the Palm Springs Shortfest, the Lionsgate/Starz Award for Best Speculative Fiction at BlackStar Film Festival, and Best Director: Fantastic Shorts at Fantastic Fest. She was profiled in Filmmaker Magazine, and her upcoming short with Mary Glen Fredrick, Anything Valuable, was selected for the 2021 Tribeca/Chanel Through Her Lens workshop.
Annalise received her BA in English literature and creative writing from Stanford University. Post-graduation, she worked there on a spatial history project, creating a data tier of London locations referenced in 18th- and 19th-century novels. She is also a cello player and conductor.
For Fujikina NYC, Annalisa created a short film, Mirasol, about a young girl living on a family farm in a climate-changed future, who learns that beauty and hope can endure in the harshest environments.
