Our esteemed Creators and X-Photographers, each of whom excel in many creative fields, will offer 30 minute portfolio review sessions. Professionalism and creative vision can be intimidating – as can a one on one session regarding your own images – but trust in this supportive, fun, relaxed group of friends to offer ideas for you to build on.
Our friend Derek Fahsbender once said “Creativity is sometimes like trying to create a flame with two wet sticks.”

Empathy is at the forefront of my practice. As a portrait photographer, I feel that it is important to reimagine how my subject defines personal beauty. I often find myself capturing the unconventional, uncertain and uneasy aspects of human nature. Derek Fahsbender
Derek Fahsbender is a Bronx-based photographer best known for capturing the aesthetic of the urban landscape and the colorful characters within. Drawing inspiration from the unforgiving streets of New York City he remembers while growing up in the 1980’s, Derek’s work seeks to bring the viewer beyond the postcard portrayals of big city life and into the shoes of the common person. Alison Conklin
Alison has a true passion for weddings, food, fashion and design and when combined with her penchant for framing interesting people in magical moments, this forms the foundation on which her work builds. She wants her photographs to connect people with themselves and their lives in deeper ways. She loves color, joy, light, air, smiles, patterns, organized clutter, unexpected angles and potently genuine moments. Petronella Lugemwa
Petronella Lugemwa is a storyteller, speaker, educator and Creative Director of Petronella Photography, an award-winning destination wedding and family photography studio based out of the New York area that specializes in helping multicultural, interracial or mixed couples celebrate their love in a modern way and believes that what makes you different makes you beautiful. She was named a Rising Star in wedding photography worldwide and photographed the Nov 2018 magazine cover. Dinesh Boaz
Dinesh Boaz creates a dynamic juxtaposition between the natural landscape and our involvement in it. Dinesh explores the world beneath him via helicopters to achieve a ‘top’ down view. As he states, “By honing-in on the specific details of the earth below, I can highlight the remoteness and stillness in water, sand and rugged space-like terrain, while connecting back to our existence with human form and the life within.” Emphasizing lines, colors, shapes and an overall pattern, Boaz’s ideas are showcased in the diversity and depth of his images from across the world. George Nobechi
I’m a Japanese/Canadian photographer based in Karuizawa, in the mountains of Nagano, Japan. I’m a connector of people and creative director for the new Karuizawa Foto Fest and Nobechi Creative, producer of photographic exhibitions, events and workshops around the world, including “Evenings with the Masters” which featured two seasons of live talks with amazing photographers from around the world and raised $70,000 for charity. My photographs have been published in Huffington Post, Newsweek, PDN and more, and exhibited in solo shows in Tokyo, New York (at Photoville), other parts of the US, Germany, Italy, and I’m represented by several notable galleries. I’ve been a Fujifilm user since 2015 and am featured in the “10 Years of X-Mount” ‘Reflections’ series. I’m happy to share my insights on how to further your photographic career in the present landscape and am looking forward to meeting you and seeing your work!
