Yuriko Nakao (Japan)

Born in Tokyo.
Backpacked around the world as a student. Was inspired by late Japanese photographer Michio Hoshino and subsequently went solo camping in Alaska to take photographs in the vast wilderness. These experiences inspired her to become a photographer.
Joined Reuters news agency in 2001 after graduating Aoyama University. Worked as a text and television reporter. Was assigned to the photo department in 2002. Covered various news events, including international conferences, sports, nature, entertainment, documentary, natural disasters etc. as a staff photographer. Works with major international news agencies, newspapers, governments, embassies, outdoor brands and automobile makers, after becoming an independent photographer since 2013. Shoots photos and videos for her clients.
Is especially passionate about making pictures for personal projects with themes like ͆Connection with Nature,͇͆Unseen Worlds͇and͆ Land of Gods.͇
Moved to Europe in May, 2017. Currently resides in The Netherlands.
