Josué’s Story

Learn how Josué uses collaborative photography to shine a light on the lives of indigenous people in North America and make their voices heard

“You shouldn’t be just shooting anything, you should be making something, you should be collaborating.”

Josué Rivas

Josué has made it his mission to scratch beneath the glossy surface of society, using photography to challenge the misconceptions and stereotypes that prevail in our everyday lives. Ever since he was a child, Josué has been fascinated by the people that society has forgotten. In an effort to help these people, he began using image making to document the stories that made them who they are, giving them back their identity. His dedication to changing perceptions of indigenous tribes in North America has earned him a World Press Photo award and continues to drive him today.
