Harry Montas

“I want to be able to change the perspective on how we see each other”

Harry is a Bronx-based director of photography with a desire to tell stories of complexity. He discovered the camera through one of his high school teachers, and immediately fell in love with the opportunity to focus on people’s stories. Harry took classes at Bronx Documentary Center all through high school and when it came time for him to graduate, he knew he wanted to pursue a future in filmmaking.

After graduation, Harry began working at Bronx Documentary Center and teaching part time at different middle schools, helping other students learn how to make images while continuing to pursue his own documentary work.

Harry continues to pursue opportunities to tell the unheard stories of people, especially those from the Dominican Republic.
