I’m a freelance photographer based in Bangkok, Thailand. I like natural light, it allows portrait lighting to look and feel authentic. I am passionate about capturing authentic emotions and feelings that speak to the audience about feeling, emotion and story of people without narrative. I love the way to create images by merging art and technique and can tell stories at the same time. I always think that self-determined development is never waste.

Hello, my name is Faad, a freelance photographer under the name 21DAY. I start photography as my hobby since 8 years ago when I were working as an office staff. I study and practice photography very hard because I really happy and interesting in it and finally I turn myself into a professional photographer at the end. At the beginning of my photography career I shoot everything in order to improve my photography skills. After years as a professional photographer now I’m focusing on portrait photography or any kind of photography that have to shoot people.

At my beginning of photography DSLR camera is the most popular items in the market. Then I start my photography with the APS-C DSLR camera and upgrade to Full-frame DSLR camera later because I need a better quality for my works. And later, mirrorless camera is pop up in the market and start replacing DSLR because the size and weight of the mirrorless camera is a lot lighter and smaller than DSLR camera but the quality and speed of mirrorless is improving continuously. Finally I decide to upgrade my camera to the full frame mirrorless system.

Lately I have a very good opportunity to working with Fujifilm in SOOC project which I have to use the latest camera the X-S10 as my main camera. My first touch of Fujifilm X-S10 I feel very comfortable with the grip. It’s just really fit to my hand I think it’s because of the grip is bigger, deeper and all the button is in a really good and easy for operation. Another good thing about Fujifilm X-S10 is size and weight of the camera. It’s really compact and the weight of the camera is amazing. It is smaller and lighter than a full frame mirrorless camera but the handling and file quality is really impressive. I can hold it for the whole day work without any pain in my hands or in my arms. And one last small thing that I impress is the build in flash. It works very well in every lighting condition. I don’t have to carry another external flash if I don’t have plan to separate the flash out of the camera and this solution make my camera bag a lot lighter.

Not only size and weight of the camera but also the Fujinon XF lenses is so compact for example XF56mmF1.2 R which is one of my favorite XF lens when compare to the same focal length and F-stop lens of full frame camera XF56mmF1.2 R is a lot more compact and lighter and when combine with Fujifilm X-S10 my system is very light but it’s no compromise in term of sharpness or image quality. Thanks to the advance technology of XF lens design and X-Tran CMOS, even the size of lens and sensor is smaller but the quality of the file is not small at all.

The SOOC project that I work with Fujifilm is stand for Straight Out Of Camera which mean I have to show my photo straight out from the camera without any post processing at all. I have to clarify that my work mostly have to do post processing in order to get the tone of the photo to match my imagination. So the SOOC project is quite challenging to me but thanks to film simulation of Fujifilm that can simulate characteristic and tone of the famous films of Fujifilm to the camera. Film simulation can be displayed right to my eye through the screen before I press the shutter then I can choose the mood and tone of the photo even before my shutter release. Fujifilm X-S10 offer 18 film simulations that means 18 different tones I can choose for my photo which make my photography life a lot easier.

In this project I choose classic chrome as my primary film simulation because classic chrome offers the best tone that match to the lighting condition and it makes my photo look warm with a bit contrast but not too vivid. And I also use Pro negative for the photo that I want to show a skin tone of the model. Lastly, I use Acros which is very famous black and white professional film for my black and white photo. Acros gives me a beautiful gradation and a good detail in highlight and shadow as well.

I can say that because of those film simulations then I can finish my SOOC work very easy right at the camera. I don’t have to spend extra time after shoot for the post processing process because the film simulation can offer me the tone of the photo that I want straight out of the camera already. And there are variety of film simulation inside the camera that means I can choose the film that match to my work, my idea independently. It makes my work faster and easier, I really impress it.
