X-T50 : Family x Anne Eeckeman

06.10.2024

My name is Anne, a 35-year-old from Lille with a passion for pictures. I am a photographer and content creator on Instagram, where I share my love for travel and interior design. In addition, I conduct photo shoots for various home decor brands, tourist offices, and brands dedicated to the children’s universe since I am also the mother of two little girls.

Recently, Fujifilm offered me the opportunity to discover their new X-T50 camera. It was the perfect occasion to take my little family with me to the Bay of Somme, between Ault and Le Tréport. This is a place I love for its tranquility, architecture, and the charm of its houses, but most of all for the beauty of its cliffs. The perfect playground to test the X-T50! With its compact size, intuitive ergonomics, and responsiveness, it was the perfect ally for this photo report.

What might define my photographic style, I think, is its graphic aspect. I love playing with shapes, shadows, the combination of colors, and above all, I love managing to capture moments, smiles, and light effects… Therefore, I need an intuitive and high-performance camera that allows me to focus on what’s most important to me: the image and its composition.

Daily, I use the XT-5, and I found that it shares some similarities with the new X-T50, including the 40MP sensor that offers impressive image quality! This allowed me to easily crop my photographs in post-production to improve the composition of my image without losing quality.

For this photo report, we left in the middle of winter, when the light became scarcer from the mid-afternoon. So, I also greatly appreciated the built-in image stabilization, very handy for continuing to shoot handheld, even at the end of the day. And to easily capture fleeting moments and moving subjects, I could rely on the 5th generation autofocus, a real asset for this X-T50.

And then, how can we talk about Fujifilm without thinking about their iconic Film Simulations? The unique thing about X-T50 is precisely the addition of a dial dedicated to these simulations. I’ve been working with Fujifilm bodies for 8 years now, and I’ve always used the Classic Chrome simulation a lot, which allowed me to soften the image a bit to have a slightly desaturated color rendering, closer to analog photography. Here with the X-T50 and its dedicated dial, I was able to switch from one simulation to another in an instant to choose the colorful ambiance that matched my desires according to the shot. It opens the door to even more creativity!

Regarding lenses, I must admit that I have my little favorite: the FUJINON XF35mmF1.4 R, which brings a lot of light and depth to images thanks to its wide aperture. But here, during this weekend, I was able to discover the brand new FUJINON XF16-50mmF2.8-4.8 R LM WR with its constant length zoom and aperture of 2.8-4.8. It has the advantage of being compact, light, and above all versatile to quickly adapt to my framing needs and desires, unlike a fixed focal length which can be a bit more limiting in the context of a photo report.

My conclusion? I loved wandering along the coast with my little family and the X-T50 always on me, slung over my shoulder, ready to be drawn at any moment! It’s a model I recommend for those looking for a compact camera that is both high-performing, accessible, and intuitive! Thanks to Fujifilm for this wonderful experience !
