Fujifilm’s X Series is set to welcome the FUJIFILM X-T30 mirrorless camera as the newest addition to its family of revolutionary digital cameras.
The next step in Fujifilm’s digital legacy, the X-T30 will come in three colors and be available in black and classic silver from FUJIFILM Authorized Dealers across the USA beginning March 20, 2019. The highly anticipated charcoal silver finish will be available beginning June 30, 2019.
Through providing many of the features from the award-winning X-T3, Fujifilm has brought professional performance to image-makers of all levels.
The Next Step in Fujifilm’s Digital Camera Legacy
Following the incredible success of its predecessor, the X-T20, the X-T30 furthers Fujifilm’s digital camera legacy by taking advantage of its back-illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and X-Processor 4 imaging engine combination, which can also be found at the heart of Fujifilm’s highly popular X-T3.
This image sensor and processor duo not only provides users with increased image quality and faster processing compared to previous Fujifilm X Series cameras, it also provides them with the ability to capture 4k video, make use of a new low native ISO 160 setting, and also benefit from improved autofocus (AF) and Face Detection performance.
These professional features and outstanding value make the X-T30 an ideal choice for everyone – from beginners looking for easy-to-use quality or enthusiasts seeking an upgrade, right through to professionals who require a portable backup camera.
Form & Function
The X-T30 camera body has undergone some simple modifications to reduce its size and weight, while ensuring maximum stability and usability.
For example, the camera’s handling has been improved with the addition of a Focus Lever onto the camera body. This lever replaces the direction pad found on other X Series models and creates more space on the rear of the body, making it easier to grip. At just 13.6oz (383g) and complemented by a new, 1.3mm thinner LCD monitor with improved touchscreen response, this camera continues to maintain Fujifilm’s reputation for usability, comfort, and style.
Improved AF Performance
With a significant increase in on-sensor phase detection pixels the X-T30 takes advantage of the most advanced AF system in the history of X Series cameras by increasing the total number of pixels to 2.16 million – approximately four times more than the X-T20 – and making them cover 100% of the frame. AF performance is also assisted by the camera’s new AF algorithm, which offers accurate Face and Eye Detection in continuous AF (AF-C) mode, and a better low-light phase detection limit, which has been expanded from +0.5EV to -3EV. Together, they give users the opportunity to ensure that even moving portrait subjects are pin-sharp.
Filmmakers and videographers of all levels will be pleased with the motion capture improvements found in the X-T30 which offer the ability to record 4K/30p video and record high-quality audio straight into the camera. With the option to record Full HD video at 120fps to capture super-slow motion, experiment with Fujifilm’s renowned Film Simulation modes to get great color looks in camera, or dive into capturing footage in F-Log to allow for the utmost freedom in post-production the foundation is set for users to explore a world of creative possibilities.
On The Road with the X-T30
To celebrate the launch of the X-T30, Fujifilm is sending this versatile camera on a journey around the USA and beyond in the hands of some of the greatest photographers in the world. The journey will not only be geographical, but also a philosophical exploration of the reasons why we take photographs, asking each photographer what legacy means to them and how they are using FUJIFILM cameras to create theirs.
