Patrice Michellon (France)

Patrice Michellon is a Franco-German photographer who lives in Paris.  Self-taught, he has been using FUJIFILM's X series cameras and lenses since 2012 (and more specifically the X100 series bodies). Since 2019 he has been working exclusively with GFX series material to capture all sorts of subjects. His images are a patchwork of landscapes, architecture, offbeat portraits, as well as moments stolen in the streets when he travels. Each time, the light and strong contrasting colors play an major role in his compositions. Since 2014, he has also produced and presented to over 10,000 learners, photography and retouching classes on one of the main online training platforms in France. He is the author of the "GFX Guide" (www.leguidegfx.com) first released in 2020. This book is distributed online for free and is updated quarterly. In this guide, owners of GFX hardware as well as informed amateurs, can get access to tips and tricks, camera bodies and lenses reviews, interviews with photographers and information, in order to decide what to do before a purchase, or to read the latest GFX news!

TESTIMONIAL

Holding the FUJIFILM X100T and X-T1 in my hands has been a real eye-opener. I got rid of all my DSLRs as well as their heavy lenses. What if I took the time again? Time to compose, time to capture the environment whilst translating all the emotions and moods which surround me when I travel? Thanks to these small camera bodies as well as both the WCL-X100 and the TCL-X100 adapters which follow me everywhere in the world I can now benefit from a light and stealth kit without giving up on an amazing image quality. Eventually my own creativity is the only limitation. For my studio portraits and landscape photography, I also use the X-T1 and the wide range of Fujifilm lenses, in particular the fantastic XF16-55mm f/2.8 WR zoom. The sensor's dynamic as well as the tack sharp lenses allow me to retrieve an unbelievable amount of details. Also the EVF and the camera's manual controls give me real time "what you see is what you get" which is speeding up my workflow when I shape light on my subjects' faces. No need to waste time in endless menus anymore in case I need to make adjustments.
