Olivier Vigerie has now been working at the Cannes Film Festival for 15 years. As well, he signed with CONTOUR by Getty Images, making Olivier Vigerie’s celebrity portraits available for distribution internationally. He has worked with notable and influential magazines such as Studio Magazine, Cinema Teaser, Cut, Le Nouvel Obs, Le Figaro among many others.

In addition, he has the privilege to take the portraits of contemporary artists such as Keanu Reeves, Morgan Freeman, Joaquin Phenix, Jessica Chastain and Tilda Swinton. Among many others. Currently, Olivier Vigerie is working as an Official Photographer for Universal France, Warner France, Netflix and Sony France on Premiere and for Deauville American Film Festival and Canneseries on Festivals.

Now, I’ve been using the Fujifilm GFX 50R for over one year and I mostly appreciate its image quality. As a Fujifilm X Photographer and Ambassador, I have the opportunity to test new equipments from time to time. For a camera, image quality and ergonomics are the two main criteria for me. As soon as you handle the GFX 50R, you recognize the functions easy to use of the X series cameras: XT-3, XH-1 and X- pro2, which is an advantage when you need to react quickly, especially in instinctive photography.

For my part, I mainly use the Fujifilm cameras to make portraits in film festivals. Often the time allowed realizing this portrait is a minute or less. Fortunately, with medium format cameras such as the GFX 50R or X-Series cameras such as the XT-3, XH-1 and X- pro2, the camera detects and automatically focuses on face or on eyes, which is a considerable saved time and a consequent comfort. With the GFX 50R, the 50 Mpix image resolution allows to crop in the image and to get enough resolution for large format prints.
