Nelson Marques (Portugal)

Nelson Marques, a Portuguese-Swiss photographer, expresses from an early age an interest for photography. With an uncommon innate aesthetic sense, he presented his first exposé in the “Maison du Cartier des Eaux-Vives”, in Geneva, while he has still a teenager.
When Marques finished his academic training in the IPF (Portuguese Institute of Photography) and in the ETIC (School of Creation and Innovation Technologies) in Lisbon, he started his career as an assistant to foreign photographers and as a freelance photographer, doing several jobs for catalogues, promotional and advertising campaigns and book and magazine publications.
Concerned with his constant evolution, he participated and frequented several photography workshops in all of Europe. {In 1998, Marques had the opportunity to exhibit in the “FIL” 98Expo (the rural world) and created his first photography studio.
Marques frequently works with various magazines in the editorial making. Since 2003, Nelson Marques is the ambassador of the Dreambookspro Company. In the social photography area, Marques is frequently invited as a speaker in workshops and presentations in Portugal, Spain, Brazil and France. These workshops are organized by associations and companies that recognise his innovative character, as well as his singular and interactive eloquence.
Nelson Marques follows his instincts quickly and easily, having from an early age followed his passion for photography. His final work results from his attentive and intuitive observation.

My name is Nelson Marques and I am a photographer for 17 years.
My first contact with Fujifilm X was with the X100 model and I fell in love. Following that experience I moved to the X-Pro1 and then to the X-T1. The Fujifilm X system has brought me the liberty I always looked in a camera. As if it were an extension of my arm.
I found in those equipment the quality I was looking for, both in the cameras and in the lenses. All this added to the lightness that almost makes me forget I have a camera in my hand.
