Expanding the use of outstanding image technology based on unique color reproduction​​

・The use of the Film Simulation function, which offers diverse color and tonal reproductions will be expanded. The new firmware will add the “CLASSIC Neg” mode, simulating color negative film traditionally chosen for snapshots, and the “ETERNA” mode, which replicates the colors and tonality of Fujifilm’s motion picture film.

Improving autofocus performance​

・The firmware will add the Low Light Priority AF-S mode, which would extend exposure time during autofocus to improve AF accuracy in low light.

・The firmware will improve Face / Eye AF performance. The face / eye detection accuracy and stability are improved when shooting multiple people, so as to make portrait photography easier than ever before.

・The Auto mode will be added to focus bracketing. Specify the starting and ending points and shooting interval, and the camera can automatically determine the number of frames and steps required.

Expanding various other functions requested by customers

・The firmware will allow users to adjust exposure settings (shutter speed, aperture value, ISO sensitivity, exposure compensation) for still images from a computer when using software that supports some tether-shooting functions.

・More photo-editing applications will support the import of rating information, assigned in camera.

・The maximum number of photos that can be saved in each folder on an SD card will increase 10 fold from 999 to 9,999.

Supports “35mm Format Mode” when using GF Lens and H mount adapter

“35mm Format Mode” crops the center of the sensor 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5M) and records JPEG and RAW file.

Supports simultaneous delete for RAW and JPEG files

When RAW / JPEG is selected in the card slot setting (for still image), RAW/JPEG image can be deleted simultaneously. By selecting “OFF”, only the RAW image will be deleted.

Improved eye-sensor response

Reduced the time to switch between EVF and LCD when you select “eye-sensor” on the viewfinder display settings.

Supports EVF and LCD color adjustment

Color of EVF/LCD is adjustable from screen setting menu.

Compatible with the newly developed FUJINON GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR capabilities

The upgrade will add compatibility for the newly developed FUJINON GF250mmF4 R LM OIS WR capabilities that include “Focus Preset”, “AF-L” and “AF-ON”

Addition of “Flicker Reduction”

For enhancing the quality of indoor sports photography, the upgrade allows users to reduce flicker in pictures and display when shooting under fluorescent lighting and other similar light sources.

Addition of “Select Folder” and “Create Folder”

Enables users to choose the folder in which subsequent pictures will be stored. Users will aso be able to enter a five-character folder name to create a new folder in which to store subsequent pictures.

Addition of Fn button support for “35mm Format Mode”

The upgrade allows users to set the Fn button as “35mm Format Mode” for quicker setting changes.

Enlarged and customizable indicators “Large Indicators Mode”

The upgrade allows users to enlarge indicators and information in the viewfinder and/or LCD monitor. This upgrade will also enable users to customize the location of where the information is shown on the display.

Addition of “Focus Bracketing”

The update will enable the photographer to shoot focus distance bracketing up to 999 frames. When the photographer start shooting, the focal location is shifted with each activation of the shutter by the step of focus shift set from 1 to 10.

Addition of “35mm Format Mode”

The update will enable the photographer to shoot central 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5M) cropped images as both JPEG and RAW files. When using 35mm format adapters, it will be easier to adjust the image size to 35mm format image circle lenses.

“H MOUNT ADAPTER G” new firmware

The firmware update will expand the compatibility for the “H MOUNT ADAPTER G” accessory*.

Support “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO”

Once connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” enables users to convert RAW files with X-Processor Pro. Fast batch processing will also be available. The “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” can be downloaded from the FUJIFILM website for free.

Improve radio flash controller usability

The upgrade allows users to shoot with compatible third party studio flash in high speed sync. or TTL mode via their radio controllers.

Support for backup/restore of camera settings via FUJIFILM X Acquire

Once connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the “FUJIFILM X Acquire” allows users to backup/restore camera settings to/from a file. Copying all camera settings from one camera to another is available.

Addition of “Eye Sensor + LCD Image Display” in the View Mode

The update gives the “Eye Sensor + LCD Image Display” option in the View Mode that allows you to shoot through the viewfinder and check images on the LCD, just as you would with an SLR.

ON/OFF for 1/3-step shutter speed adjustment

The update allows you to turn off the Command Dial’s function to adjust shutter speed by 1/3 steps in order to prevent unintended adjustments.

Addition of “Shoot Without Card” mode​

With the update, you can have the “Shoot Without Card” mode turned OFF so that the camera will not shoot when there is no SD card inserted.

Addition of “-6” and “-7” to EVF’s brightness setting​

The update will extend the “EVF Brightness” setting options to “-6” and “-7” so that, even in an extremely low-light condition, the brightness of the EVF does not distract you from shooting.
