Jozef Peniak - portrait and commercial photographer - is known for his technical mastery and enthusiasm manifested in his approach to the image-making process. Private portrait commisions are an important focus of Jozef´s work. As a sought-after educator, Jozef currently teaches at the Private Art Secondary School in Nitra, Slovakia, as well as holds workshops and seminars throughout the country focused particularly on the studio lighting techniques and portraiture. He also works as an editor and reviews the photographic equipment for www.ephoto.sk.
Jozef´s photographic style is open as he only uses the inevitable digital retouch without manipulating the images in computer. His passion is to identify the subtle nuances that make each person unique. One of his biggest virtues is the ability to create a friendly atmosphere while photo shooting and to capture the portrayed person in a very natural way. He can manage almost all technical issues that can possibly appear while photo shooting. Lately, he has been devoted to the photojournalism and landscape photography. Jozef also works on personal projects, documents his environment as well as the constantly changing new European Slovakia.
In my opinion, the cameras series X follow a very attractive concept. I especially value the good image quality, small dimensions and very nice outcome. My favourite camera is Fujifilm X100. I prefer its traditional control and hybrid viewfinder, silent operating as well as the great quality of the images. Shooting with this camera, setting the aperture and time while using the hybrid viewfinder is a sheer pelesure. I also got attracted to the model X-Pro1 in combination with the lens Fujinon XF 35 mm F1,4 and XF 60 mm F2,4 from the series CSC.
