James Gao is a state accredited leading photographer in China whose photography style underscores casual documentation of people and culture. He has a keen eye for the people, landscape, and objects he encounters and his photos beautifully communicate his unique understanding of these encounters. Since 2001 he has taken his photography with him through many countries and regions, during which he also taught photography for various equipment brands as well as colleges in China. In 2002, he enchanted us with his solo exhibition To The West & South, followed by 40000 Leagues To The West in 2006 and Encounters in 2012. Also, He has published his collection Picking Up the Lost Bits.
