Anthropologist and photographer. Jorge develops works related to issues of identity, memory, language and the relation between the human being and its environment. His work is part of collections such as the Swiss culture fund in Colombia, the photography collection of Higashikawa Japan and various private collections. It’s been published in media such as the New York Times, National Geographic, Süddeutsche Zeitun, L'oeil de la Photographie, El País Spain, El Malpensante, among other international media. He has held solo exhibitions in Spain, Argentina, Chile and Colombia and has participated in collective exhibitions in Spain, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Ireland, Ecuador, France, Lituania, Germany and Colombia. Among his recognitions are: winner of the SMART creation grant for photographer in Swiss, Second Place in POYLatam 2017, winner of the 2016 Emerging Talent Award of Lens Culture, winner of the creation grant for artists with intermediate trajectory of the Culture Ministry of Colombia; Co-production grant for cross and transmedia projects of MINTIC; Winner of the Ibero-American Photography Prize NEXOFOTO, Spain; The IX National Colombo Swiss Prize of Photography of the Culture Ministry; He was grantee of the Pedro Meyer Foundation studying the Photonarrative and new media diploma. In 2015 he was nominator for the World Press Photo Latin America Masterclass. Co-founder of the photography group + 1 and CROMA Taller Visual. Currently he´s an X-Photographer for Fujifilm.
