Akio Hachinohe


Born on July 9, 1960 in Chiba Prefecture. At present, he lives in Sapporo. He started making hot-air balloon when he was in third year of junior high school and completed it over four years in the third year of high school. In 1982, he took off from Kamishihoro located in the Tokachi plain, and flew 150 Km until Betsukai town (At that time, it was the longest flight in Japan). He also won several hot-air balloon tournaments. He also worked as a researcher with Nippon Beat Sugar Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Then, after working with a software company, he chose the career of a photographer. He flew a self-operated hot-air balloon at a very low altitude and his unique characteristic is a style that clips a human being like one page of a story.
