Arjun Kartha(India)
Arjun Kartha is one of India’s best known wedding photographers and the co-founder of Twogether Studios. Having helped pioneer the new wave of wedding photography in 2008, Arjun is best known for his contemporary and off-beat approach to shooting Indian marriages. Arjun is also the founder of the Wedding Photographer’s Association of India, a collective for the most innovative and path breaking wedding photographers in the country.
I started making pictures just after the turn of the century; and in doing so am probably one of the last generations of photographers to have actually started on film. Over the years I've been privileged to have used almost every type of camera there is. I distinctly remember transitioning from film to digital, and the inherent suspicion that came long with it - would digital live up to film? However when I switched from D-SLRs to mirrorless, the transition was something else altogether; instead of suspicion, it was a wave of pleasure. I love the way the Fujifilm cameras feel in my hands, and the way they help me make the kind of pictures I want. To a photographer, the camera is a highly personal and valued asset - and this intangible relationship is what makes an artist "feel" for a subject, and I'm proud to say that the Fuji does just that!
