From the iconic ratios that shaped photographic history – such as 5:4, 3:2, and 1:1 – to the ones that define Fujifilm’s legendary past – including 17:6, 3:4, and 65:24 – nine different options are available.

Color the World: Nine Aspect Ratios

Originating in cinema, later becoming a television staple, and now the default ratio of the GFX System—utilizing the full height and width of the sensor—4:3 is a versatile and timeless classic, suitable for any subject.

The native ratio of FUJIFILM X Series cameras, 3:2 shares the same proportions as the classic 35mm format. As a result, it has become synonymous with the compact, mirrorless models that are highly favored by today’s image makers.

The 16:9 aspect ratio, widely recognized for its cinematic proportions, is a favorite for creating immersive visuals. Popular among videographers and photographers alike, it delivers a modern, widescreen format perfect for storytelling and dynamic compositions.

A unique aspect ratio, inspired by the legendary FUJIFILM TX-1 and TX-2 analog cameras. Slightly taller than 17:6, it retains a panoramic look with a more modest wide-angle effect. Ideal for street photography and fashion.

An ultra-wide aspect ratio that creates a panoramic, cinematic effect. It gives a greater sense of wide angle surpassing the lens’s focal length, making it appear as though the image extends beyond the edges of the frame.

This vertical format was born from a wish to get more frames on 35mm film, but is now the mainstay of smartphone photography. A natural choice for portrait imagery.

The 1:1 aspect ratio, known for its perfect symmetry, offers a timeless and balanced composition. Ideal for portraits, still life, and creative storytelling, it draws the viewer’s focus to the subject, making it a favorite for social media and artistic expression alike.

Embodying the tranquility of 1:1 and the balance of 5:4, this versatile format is renowned for its compatibility with print media. It reached its peak during the golden age of film, thriving in everything from commercial shoots to personal projects and remains a beloved aspect ratio among photography enthusiasts.

Nothing short of photographic heritage, used in large format cameras like 8×10 and 4×5. Now reborn in the digital era, it carries an air of homage, blending tradition with modern innovation.

When set to the Custom Setting, users are free to select between any of the 9 available aspect ratios by using the Front Command Dial.

Operating the dials is an interactive dialogue with your camera, with each adjustment of shutter speed, ISO, or aperture ring a moment to savor. Intuitive Interface, More Immersive Creative Experience

The UI provides all the necessary information while keeping your focus on image making. With the new 3:2 LCD, icons are optimally placed for clarity, while the new Surround View feature adds semi-transparent overlays or lines to show the area outside the frame, giving photographers greater freedom and a more immersive experience.

Precise, High-Magnification EVF

A viewfinder provides a crucial connection between the three-dimensional world and your two-dimensional image of it. GFX100RF’s 0.5-inch, 5.76 million dot OLED EVF has a maximum magnification of 0.84x to deliver a seamless connection between the two.

A Design That Inspires

GFX100RF combines cutting-edge technology with a classic design that evokes a sense of nostalgia. Accessible top-tier image quality. Holding the camera sparks excitement, and once you start using it, you’ll want to keep creating.

Uniquely Crafted

A camera isn’t just a tool for making images, it’s inherently part of the creative process. In GFX100RF, this philosophy comes to life with beautifully machined aluminum components, from top-plate and baseplate to aperture ring, hot shoe cover, and battery door. The sharp, defined edges, solid build quality, and unique warmth retained through its thermal properties create an unparalleled tactile experience. Each detail, crafted with the dedication of a master artisan, turns every interaction with the camera into a source of inspiration and joy.

Accessories Designed to Perform, Crafted to Inspire

Included accessories are equally impressive. The adapter ring, which has the same high-quality feel and precision as the body, integrates seamlessly with the lens hood. This not only enhances the design but also makes the camera weather-resistant when combined with filters. The high-quality strap offers the perfect balance of portability and security, making it an ideal solution for safe, comfortable handling.

Newly Designed 35mmF4 Lens

The lens uses ten elements in eight groups, including two aspherical lenses and Nano GI Coating to reduce reflections across the frame. This design keeps the lens compact while delivering excellent image quality. Sharpness is consistent from center to edges, while autofocus is smooth and accurate thanks to the DC motor. For the first time in GFX System, the lens includes a built-in 4-stop ND filter and leaf shutter that syncs flash at any shutter speed. These features give more creative control, especially when working outdoors in bright conditions.

Focusing Down to 20cm

With a minimum focus distance of just 20cm (7.87 in) from the front of the lens, GFX100RF invites you to get close enough to feel and experience the scene. As you move closer, the shallower depth-of-field creates stunningly soft bokeh to deliver a look only a large format camera can provide.

Overwhelming Image Quality

Image quality is one of the most important aspects of camera performance. It’s what allows you to record textures, delicate colors, and smooth tonal gradations – and create photos that can be cropped or printed large without losing detail. GFX100RF takes the core purpose of photography – recording moments – to the next level, making incredible results easy to achieve.

With its GFX 102MP CMOS II large format sensor, and the high-speed X-Processor 5 image processor, it sets a new standard. The redesigned pixel structure and microlens layout of the sensor provide a wide dynamic range, low noise, improved sharpness, and autofocus accuracy from edge to edge, combining to deliver the exceptional image quality GFX System is known for.

Film Simulation

Gone are the days of using different cameras and films: with GFX100RF, you can easily switch between 20 Film Simulation modes and nine aspect ratios from frame to frame. Plus, custom settings let you reflect your personal preferences, opening up endless creative possibilities.

PROVIA

Based on FUJICHROME PROVIA, a reversal film designed for professional use, this Film Simulation mode is great for all subject types, offering a neutral color reproduction.

CLASSIC CHROME

This Film Simulation mode is designed to reproduce a look similar to documentary magazines of the 20th century. Its low saturation and hard tonal gradation in shadows make it a perfect choice for documentary photography with a touch of realism.

REALA ACE

REALA ACE combines faithful color reproduction with well-defined tonal gradation, making it suitable for a wide range of subjects and situations.

CLASSIC Neg.

Based on SUPERIA, a color negative film loved by generations of photographers, this Film Simulation mode provides high-contrast tonal gradation. It adds depth and definition to colors by adjusting their shades in highlights and shadows, while reducing saturation.

ACROS

Based on ACROS, a monochrome film renowned for super-fine grain, this Film Simulation mode delivers rich shadow details and excellent sharpness.

NOSTALGIC Neg.

NOSTALGIC Neg. evokes the color reproduction of iconic works from the seventies, which brought the possibilities of color expression to the world and established it as art, reminiscent of the New Color movement. The unique tonal rendering softens highlights with an amber hue while preserving detail in the shadows, allowing for vibrant and lyrical images.
